Orange Shirt Day

Monday, September 27th was "Orange Shirt Day" at Cardston Elementary School. Many students wore orange to show their support and understanding for those lost children and survivors of residential schools, their families and communities.

At CES there were ten different presenters who shared their stories of resilience and inspired all students on how to "handle" the hard things in their lives.

The presenters were:

Winter Rex, Ina (Old Shoes) Fairbanks, Jean Old Shoes, Michelle Quinton, Jerry First Charger, Melissa Shouting, Tia Fox, Avery Many Bears, Ramona Big Head.

On Tuesday, Grant Spotted Bull presented his artwork  which is influenced by his ancestors, his culture, and by many traditional and spiritual sites for the Blackfoot people. He hopes to encourage students to believe in themselves and go after their dreams.
